How Do Married Couples Feel About Being Called A Civil Union?

Obama plans to do away with the term marriage as far as the federal goverment is concerned and refer to all unions (homosexual and straight couples) as civil union. He said that we shouldn't use the term marriage just let the churches dem them that if they will.

So I was curious as to what married people felt about that. Or should I ask what do civil union couples feel about that? How Do Married Couples Feel About Being Called A Civil Union?
perhaps you earn the word marriage after you have died and spent your entire life with that one and only person. Everything else would be considered a civil union.

I'm for marriageHow Do Married Couples Feel About Being Called A Civil Union?
A civil union is the same as a marriage except that you were married by a Justice of the Peace %26amp; not a Minister. I don't know if a Justice uses the word God or if he just says that you are married according to the rules of the state(whatever state)you get married in, isn't this sorta mixing religion with politics.
Sounds like Legalese to me.

I know many married couples, given the way they fight, and this is biz as usual, they wouldn't be happy otherwise, ...

and there is nothing CIVIL about those UNIONS.

So, right up front we got a problem.

I do believe ALL people should be able to ';come'; together as they choose ...even better if it is in UNION!
Personally, I find the whole civil unions for gay couples a half-assed way for politicians to have their cake and eat it too. Civil unions are just that- a half assed marriage.

Politicians need to step up to the plate give everyone equal rights. We are far too behind...
I actually think this is a good idea.

If you want a marriage, fine. But let the church call it that. The government doesn't speak for GOD so it really can't offer anything other than civil unions.
