they were robbers in the 20's? anyhow many years back, they commited all their crimes together,( they also died together, they were shot in shower of bullets by a police chase when they finally caught up to them) now as far as costume, you could wear like a nice pin stripe suite with a hat to match and if you can find some spats that would be so cool, lol. the shoes the men wore back then... and your girl could dress like they did in those days, maybe go to google and get some ideas for her, like a long skirt, and those thick blouses with like 50 buttons on them.... anyhow you can get creative......
