What is the best place in Thailand for couples?

We're looking to go around easter time. We obviously dont want to be pestered by the prostitutes ect but dont just want to stay in the hotel all day long.

We have heard they do activites like zip wire and jungle outings, spa's, waterfalls and stuff like that.

Also, how much spending money will we need to bring if it's only for a week or two?

Any help will be much appreciated. What is the best place in Thailand for couples?
Hi,

I would recommend for couples or anyone to go to Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi %26amp; Phuket. Chiang Mai is also beautiful, which is the northern area of Thailand. It'll also be nice for a stop over in Bangkok to do some shopping :)

In Phuket, Samui %26amp; Chiang Mai you could do island hoppings, massages, elephant trekking, waterfalls, safaris etc

I would say $1000 - $2000 would be perfect. I usually try to save $100 per day per person to live like a King! :)

You will have an amazing time, enjoy! What is the best place in Thailand for couples?
Phuket is the best place for couples to have holidays in because there arent many strippers and lady boy prostitutes there, only prostitutes are seen in the city where all the club bars are lol, there are many things to do in phuket and you will need 12 400 baht which is $400 for the foods and taxis and adventures lol =]
for all those activities phuket will be your best bet.As for money, you can get by on 2000bht/day on a tight budget inclusive......for a good time,no holds barred quadruple it
Chiang Mai for jungle trekking, fantastic temples,Royal Palace,Tiger Sanctuary and adventure.

Go to tripadvisor for what to see and do and agoda.com for hotels at best rates.

Cheap flights from BKK with airasia.com.

For the best scenery Ao Nang, Krabi which has easy access to other Islands such as Phi Phi, Maya Island and James Bond Island again go to tripadvisor and airasia.com.
I think Krabiis good for couple cox is more quiet there and suitable for the couple and there hv the world best sunset view ever!

other than that is near to koh phi phi and u can just take a boat and stop by at koh pipi and no one will disturb u at all.....and not many prostitute out there
Just stay in your hotel room I'm sure you will not be '; pestered by prostitutes';. there. However, be very careful not to leave the other half alone too long.
Almost activities that you want to do, I think you can found its in Koh Samui. There are jungle tour, spa, waterfall, and more like this:

Sea Safari Tour + Elephant + Kayaking by big boat, from $49.

Eco Adventure Tour, ATV Adventure, from $19.

Koh Tao %26amp; Koh Nang Yuan (Sightseeing %26amp; Snorkeling), from $53.

Koh Phangan City Tour by car (Sightseeing %26amp; Snorkeling), from $53.

Angthong Marine Park (Sightseeing %26amp; Snorkeling %26amp; Kayaking), from $60.

Don't miss these activities in Koh Samui, when you visit.
Chiang Mai sounds like a good location (they have the zip wire there, waterfalls, spas, elephant trekking, etc.) Chiang Mai is also less busy than places like Bangkok or Phuket.

If you would still like some beaches, however, Krabi is a very relaxed place to go to w/plenty of natural activities.

How much money you will need will largely depend on what kind of hotel you want to stay in. Higher end hotels will easily be north of 150 USD per night, with cheaper hotels and the like costing between 30-100 per night.

http://www.asiawebdirect.com/ has a number of guides for many of the local areas you may be interested in, and you might find some general pricing information for the types of hotels you want to stay in. I would probably budget at least 2-3000 USD for a two week trip.
Dont think you will be pestered if your going around together, but some of the street hawkers, tuk tuk and taxi drivers can just be a pain, if you learn a few words of thai it will be enough to show your not just fresh off the plane.

We like Phuket and Koh Samui, if you like the idea of trekking and finding out about nature and Thai village life then take a trekking tour, Chang Mai has many on offer, over night to 10 day trekks, you decide what you want. I have added a link and can give you the number for Mr Thon who is the guide.

If you want to avoid the prostitute scene then just keep away from Pattaya or Soi Cowboy in Bangkok, if you want a reliable and honest tour guide in Phuket then we have a friend who works there.

If your there for Songkran then it will be a brilliant time, but be prepared to smile and enjoy the joke!

We have been to Thailand 7 times in 3 years and will be going back in 2010.
