Why is it trendy for Korean couples to want baby girls these days?

In the past it has always been boys.Why is it trendy for Korean couples to want baby girls these days?
It seems that the cycle has changed and now girls are desirable. I noticed the trend, too.Why is it trendy for Korean couples to want baby girls these days?

it doesn't really matter for the new generation, having kids isn't a 'trend'. nowadays, most people will accept what they have, EVEN THOUGH most couples want a boy to carry on the bloodline, the name, %26amp; the job of whatever the father is doing.


on my mothers side [ korea ] a while back then, my grandparents had 8 girls %26amp; finally had a boy


but, still, most people, the men, %26amp; couples who are still under the 'old influence' want boys, %26amp; other people, who could care less are just happy for what they have. but many of the korean women who marry american's here, prefer to have a girl
because confucism(유교) affected this thought. This is very wrong. many corean value boy more than girl because simply, they think man is important and can inherit the blood lines. This is wrong and chinese thing. in 5000 years of corean history, only 100 years, we have been thinking like that because of chinese confucism(유교) affected josun(조선) history. I think this is very wrong.
I don't really agree with most Korean people preferring baby girls but I did hear that many Koreans wanted baby girls.(But many still want baby boy to continue their generation)





Here's my opinion as a Korean.


Some Koreans might prefer baby girls these days because


girls usually help their parents alot(like chores) and even when they grow up, they serve their parents after they get married while many guys are busy with their living.
Not true.





We don't want Korean daughters.


Korean daughters usually mean, expensive credit card bills.


Promiscuous behavior.
