Why do people always assume gay couples will raise gay children?

Everybody always assumes that gay couples will raise gay children. Why do you assume that?? Straight couples raise gay children, so why can't gay couples raise straight children. Someone explain why everybody always has assume everything?Why do people always assume gay couples will raise gay children?
Oddly enough, 99% of all gay people have heterosexual parents. The only conclusion here is that Heterosexuality leads to homosexuality.

No, Gay couples raise gay children at the exact same rate as straight couples. Just a little less than 10%. There is no influencing a child's sexuality; it is inborn. All you can do is make them comfortable with it; and that should be your goal no matter what their, or your sexual preference might be.Why do people always assume gay couples will raise gay children?
As for the ';chair'; - go back to the table and be quiet - your ';facts'; are idiotic and in truth, not facts at all.





The majority (98th percentile) of molestations are committed by HETEROSEXUALS with the majority of those (92%) being committed by a close friend or relative of the family.





Everyone is so worried about gay couples raising children, yet when have you ever heard a news report of a gay parent intentionally killing their own child? You hear stories about people like Susan Smith all the time, but you NEVER hear a story like that about a gay parent. Using ';chair's'; logic then as long as you are straight, it's ok if you just ';happen'; to murder your children, but it's not ok if a child is being raised by a gay couple because they *might* get molested?





The statistics just don't back the moronic claim that gay couples will raise gay children. I know of only 1 couple among the hundreds of gay couples with kids I know that have a gay child, which just goes to reinforce the fact that str8 people produce gay children.
Because gay people are probably more likely to tell their kids that being gay is OK whereas straight people may tell them it's wrong. Children look to their parents for guidance...





I also noticed a trend where gay people on tv were calling out celebrities as being gay even though they denied it - it sort of seemed like a ';misery loves company'; more than any facts to support it.
the person who said ';Fact: a large number of gay people were molested as children'; don't know the rest of the facts -- a LARGER number of straight people were molested as children.





I do not assume gay couples will raise gay children. Our sexuality is determined before we are born.... we just don't wake up one day and discover we are gay....
Because people lack common sense. All the gay people I know have straight parents! No one chooses to be gay - why choose to make life harder? To lose the right to marry? To be disciminated against? People are born with an attraction to one sex or the other (okay - some people like both, but that's a different story). My parents didn't teach me to be straight - I don't ever recall a conversation where my mom said.. now let's practice liking boys.
My reason for thinking that way is that parents are a role model for children. I don't see how two same sex people can teach a child how the opposite sex feels are relates to the world. For example, two females would only show the female side of life and teach that the way they live is normal and right. It could cause a child to be very confused when they become an adult. JMHO
Not everyone thinks that way. Some do because they are afraid, ignorant and/or prejudice. In reality there are gay couples raising children who may or may not end up being gay. The important thing is for every kid to be raised by caring, responsible parents.
Well,you are a product of your environment.Im not saying that if you are raised by gay parents that you will be gay because I think that if you are gay you were born that way.But I can sure see why people would think that because the way you were raised absolutely molds who you become as an adult.
Gay parents are much more likely to raise gay children. People become gay because they think it's cool and they see it all over the media. At least at home, children has to be protected from having gay role-models.

I guess ppl assume that, because often times children mimic what they see, and they think it may be a greater influence on them if they are around something 24/7. Its like saying all black folks love chicken..lol.. Well I dont..I love Mexican food..Stereotypes thats all.

I don't know why people assume that... using that logic shouldn't a single mom raise a boy to be a girl, since there would be no male influence?
