I've come up with a good list myself, I just want to see if there are any that I'm missing. They don't have to be people, for example they can be estates or place. And can you explain to me why they are a good example. What are good examples of couples/doubles in the novel Pride and Prejudice?
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by doubles. However, some couples include:
Mr. Bingley/Mr. Darcy (friends)
Mr. Bingley/Jane Bennet (lovers)
Mr. Darcy/Elizabeth Bennet (lovers)
Lydia Bennet/Mr. Wickham (eloped)
Mr. Collins/Charlotte Lucas (engaged, then married)
Mr. %26amp; Mrs. Bennet (married)
Louisa %26amp; Mr. Hurst (married)
Sir William %26amp; Lady Lucas (married)
Mr. %26amp; Mrs. Gardiner (married, he is brother to Mrs. Bennet)
Mr. %26amp; Mrs. Philips (married, she is sister to Mrs. Bennet)
Lady Catherine de Bourgh %26amp; Sir Lewis de Bourgh (married, he's deceased)
Lady Catherine de Bourgh/Lady Anne Darcy (sisters, Anne Darcy was Mr. Darcy's mother and deceased)
Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy/Georgiana Darcy (siblings)
Mr. Bingley/Caroline Bingley/Louisa Bingley Hurst (siblings - don't qualify as couple since there are three, though)
Colonel Fitzwilliam/Mr. Darcy (cousins)
Elizabeth Bennet/Charlotte Lucas (best friends)
Mr. Darcy/Mr. Wickham (enemies)
Lydia %26amp; Kitty Bennet (the silly sisters, almost like co-conspirators)
Mr. Bennet %26amp; Elizabeth (his favorite child, find same eccentricities amusing)
As far as houses, you could connect Rosings Park to Pemberley; Netherfield Park to Pemberley and also to Longbourn house; Rosings Park to the Huntsford parsonage.
Would be couples:
Mr. Collins/Elizabeth Bennet
Mr. Darcy/Caroline Bingley
Elizabeth Bennet/Mr. Wickham
Mr. Wickham/Georgiana Darcy
Mr. Wickham/Miss King
Anne de Bourgh/Mr. Darcy
There are probably other couples, but hopefully this helps. Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pride_鈥?/a> has a pretty good character map showing some of the intertwined relationships. What are good examples of couples/doubles in the novel Pride and Prejudice?
