How come you almost never see mixed race couples on television?

You either see two white people together, two Asians together, two blacks, or two Hispanics, but you almost never see mixed race couples. Another thing that I have noticed is that white couples that appear on tv ads and the like almost always share similar physical traits, like they both have black hair and brown eyes, or they both have blonde hair and blue eyes. In the real world white people don't tend to specifically seek out companions that look almost exactly like they do.How come you almost never see mixed race couples on television?
Advertisers determine what you see on television. This applies to your question and any other. Network executives do the bidding of their advertisers because their success as a network depends on the approval of their clients. Now, we live in a very sensitive world that will not always line up with liberated or free thinking people such as yourself. People like you and I do not have a problem with mixed race couples, but we are outnumbered by the opinions of the others that do. It is an unfair numbers game that is driven by money at the very end of the day. If you look harder, you will see few if any mixed race couples on television and pay television, it's just not so common.How come you almost never see mixed race couples on television?
Because mixed couples are quite recent. People are only starting to become more tolerant to marriages outside ones 'race'. So the families on the TV only portrait the majority of the population that are not mixed.

As for the physical traits question;

while you may not share similar hair and eye color with your parents, you might have a similar nose, face shape, lip shape, etc.

But the actors on TV are not related, so to help the viewers see that they are a family, the producers choose actors with obviously similar traits and the most obvious happen to be the hair color and eye color.

This may also be another reason for not having mixed family, on TV because it would be harder to show that they are a family because you'd have to find a child who looks like both 'parents'. But that is just my personal opinion.
To be honest I think it reflects society.Me and my boyfriend are both mixed race and I feel that we are the only couple as I barely ever see any other mixed couples.I think to some degree people find that strange, almost incestral because we look similar.In regards the television even when mixed race people are portrayed they all have same features,tight curly hair and fair skin which in truth is inaccurate as there are many different types of mixed race even within the black and white catorgory.There are certain types of people that the public associate with certain race and the television simply choose those sterotypes to appeal to what the public see as normal no matter if they are black or white.
