Question for Couples. How many loads of laundry per week is normal for a house of only 2 people?

We currently only do 3 Full loads a week. But our roomates, another couple who do their laundry together have been doing laundry about 5 times a week. Just wanted to see how many loads of laundry other couples do per week before we ask them to cut back on all the water.Question for Couples. How many loads of laundry per week is normal for a house of only 2 people?
Three to five sounds right for two people


It could vary depending on:


-how often they re-wear clothes... some people wash a pair of jeans every time they wear them, some people wash them ever-other time, some people try things on and throw them on the bed and then throw them in the laundry


-how often they wash their towels... once a week per towel or more often?


-whether they work out (more sweaty clothes)


-whether they wear separate work clothes, or work construction or other messy jobs


-if they wash sheets every week or less often


-if they wear pajamas at all... or if they re-wear their pajamas or wear different ones every night.


-whether they wash different clothese separately (delecates vs towels vs whites)





I'm sure- if it's an issue- it could be reasonable to ask folks to try to limit their washing. They could always take things to a laundromat.Question for Couples. How many loads of laundry per week is normal for a house of only 2 people?
We do about 4 loads (sometimes you have extra because you have washed the mattress protector for instance) in a 7kg machine. I seem to get one full load of light colours, two of white bottom sheets, white towels, kitchen cloths etc. on 60掳C wash and one full load of darks. We change the sheets weekly and duvet cover etc. and use our white towels until they either smell or look dirty but never longer than 1 week. I don't think they are being really excessive but it could be that they are not filling the washer up for a full load each time. I really don't think this is something you should fall out about as it is quite personal. Different if you wanted to complain about them leaving lights on or something.
i apologize for not answering your direct question, but unless they are terrible roommates in other respects, or your water bill has skyrocketed due to two extra loads a week, i would let this one go...who knos what you and your partner do that might drive them crazy or puts them out? you have to live with them so why stir the pot over this? good luck tho!
I do 2 to 3 loads and one of sheets.if they are doing laundry daily then they are not doing full loads and wasting water.
Whites, dark, and in between equals 3. sometimes something special needs attention like a small load would make four. We all need to conserve.
For only 2 of us, we do about 6 full loads a month.
